Let's get ready to... RAMBLE! To make this Ruby Ramble cocktail, well, ruby, we're making the strawberry syrup ourselves (make sure you tell your friends so you can get a big clap). This neat back pocket cocktail syrup skill can also be done with any berries, and it couldn't be easier. If you have any strawberry syrup leftover, shake it into your other favourite berry-flavoured drinks or spoon over desserts like cheesecake or brownies. So impressive.
Add 1 punnet of strawberries, 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar to a pan on medium heat. Stir until a syrup forms and the strawberries break down. Cool and set aside.
2
Add 2 cups of honey to a pan with 1 cup of water. Once honey is dissolved, set aside and cool.
3
Add 60ml Johnnie Walker Black Ruby, 5ml strawberry syrup, 15ml honey syrup, 30ml lemon juice to a shaker with ice. Shake for 10-12 seconds.
4
Strain into a tumbler glass, filled with ice. Garnish with strawberry and lemon.
"Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, that's life". Was the band The Verve singing these words after being served a ho-hum cocktail? Really, they should have been throwing a lip over this refreshingly tart, fruity gem. Zesty grapefruit, fresh strawberries, bubbly soda water and a splash of bitters make this cheeky bev a must-try. A little sweet, a little sour and a whole lot of sass, pour this bittersweet little symphony into your highballs this weekend.
The Kween is here... and she is fiercely fabulous. An alcoholic riff on the classic Shirley Temple mocktail, the Kween Shirley is all grown up AND glowed up. Replacing the ginger-ale for spritzy lemon-lime soda and adding a dash of vodka, our gal Shirley is a little bit sweet and a little bit sour, with a whole lot of flavour-tude. 🍒
A spin on the famous Whiskey Sour, the lemon elevates the scotch’s sweetness while the scotch mellows out the lemon's tartness. The touch of egg whites adds that delicious textural frothiness, with a cherry popped on top for the finishing touch. Harmonious and zesty, there you have it; a stunning Scotch Sour.
