"Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, that's life". Was the band The Verve singing these words after being served a ho-hum cocktail? Really, they should have been throwing a lip over this refreshingly tart, fruity gem. Zesty grapefruit, fresh strawberries, bubbly soda water and a splash of bitters make this cheeky bev a must-try. A little sweet, a little sour and a whole lot of sass, pour this bittersweet little symphony into your highballs this weekend.

Meet Bob Roy, the sought-after guest at your next gathering. The OG Rob Roy was named for Scottish folk hero Rob Roy MacGregor, a Robin Hood-like character from the 18th Century. A marvellous meld of scotch whisky, vermouth, and bitters and quite similar to the beloved Manhattan (with a scotch in place of bourbon or rye), our Bob Roy is indeed the hero our taste buds deserve. We raise this dram to you Bobby boy.

And there you have it – citrus, sugar, spice and everything nice.
