Miso-Maple Whisky Sour Cocktail Recipe

We’ve all been there. Torn between sweet or savoury. Well, this cocktail is the ultimate twofer. Sweet miso-maple syrup perfectly compliments the smooth Toki Japanese Whisky, with its subtle notes of pepper and ginger. Doing a dry shake first makes this sour extra silky and frothy. Finish with a sheet of nori to tie all the flavours together. “Toki” means time in Japanese, and you’ll be loving this one after a shockingly short amount of it.

 

SERVES 1 | 2 STANDARD DRINKS PER SERVE

    • 30ml maple syrup
    • 1 tbsp white miso paste
    • 60ml Toki Blended Japanese Whisky
    • 15ml lemon juice
    • 1 egg white
    • Nori sheet to garnish

      In a small bowl, combine white miso paste with mapale syrup. Mix until combined and set aside.

      In a shaker, combine Toki Japanese Whisky, lemon juice, egg white and miso-maple mixture.

      Dry shake for 10 seconds.

      Fill the shaker with ice and shake again for 15 seconds.

      Double strain into a glass and garnish with a sheet of nori.
