A very easy wine to drink, light and dry. Good by itself or with food

Reviewing the 2020 vintage: as others have said, this is a basic, easy-drinking Beaujolais - just keep in mind this one is meant for quaffing moreso than contemplating, to paraphrase Karen MacNeil. But it knocks that out of the park. Has the hallmark gamay fruit-bomb on the heavily aromatic nose and palate...I'd say on the light side of medium in body, with a little more acidity and tannin than I expected...I would actually say potentially a *tiny* bit too acidic in the balance if we were being really picky. But for $12, we're not - it's still amazing value and good drinking. I'd take it over most other wines at this price point right now for everyday drinking. I also get the feeling it would accompany a Cappriciosa pizza particularly well, staying gently out of the way of the big olive and anchovy flavours and rounding out the edges nicely without making it a competition.

This gorgeous red is the kind of wine that you can open for any occasion. It's a lighter style red that's mellow and easy-drinking, with bright and juicy red berry flavour. I was first drawn in by the beautiful red butterfly label on the bottle, and was then delighted by what I found inside. 10/10!

4 stars purely for the value for money. Uncomplicated, low tannin and low acid. Great noveau style wine, could even be served chilled. Great intro to a fantastic french style!
