I would recommend this to a friend!
A delightful wine, perfect to convert those who dislike overly wooded chardy, and to exemplify the coastal region. The heatwave of 2019 brings a hint of melon to the grapes, and mellows out the acidity.

I was introduced to Red Claw Chardonnay at a restaurant in Sydney (the 2011) which took me back to the first Aussie Chardonnays (Brown Brothers) I tasted in the UK in the 80's; loads of oak and fantastic structure. Even some French producers followed the trend (Chateau Grezan produced a belter). I finally tracked down an outlet and ordered a case but should have been warned by the description of the 2012, "less oak". Sorry not a patch on the 2011!
