[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The suggestion from reviews is that the 2018 Balthasar Shiraz is just entering its drinking window. I will be letting it rest for a few years before trying. Pleased, also, that this vintage precedes the current logo; a little bit of GB heritage.

I was very disappointed that this beautiful tasting red set off my histamines - a beautiful taste but if you are sensations to preservatives in wine, try a different GB red.

Received a bottle of 2019 Balthasar for Father’s Day. Beautiful deep burgundy colour, great nose and truly exceptional taste. Plenty of “guts” in a very pleasant way. Label says it will age gracefully over the next 15 years. This amazing Shiraz is way too good and life is way too short to wait that long but I’d jump at the chance to cellar a few of these.

The wine is full-bodied, mature with complex taste notes. Enjoy it with Lamb chops or chicken curry like I did. Only downside is the sweetness of the wine seems to take over the pepperiness.

Shiraz freak ,

Nice Eden valley Shiraz. Has the sweet Eden valley fruits which you come to expect. A little overpriced I think though and there are cheaper alternatives
