The taste is heavy, especially the strong oak flavour takes over other tastes. There is no fragrance when smelling. I pour half bottle down to the drain as it tastes awful.

I really enjoy this Chardonnay. The heaviness of the oak is beautifully balanced and not over the top big whack. I enjoyed a bottle now and I have hidden the rest!

I was really disappointed with the last few bottles I bought. There wasn't as much flavour as I remember. The Scotchman's Hill Chardonnay of similar price was outstanding whereas the Philip Shaw tasted like a $10 - $15 bottle, not $30

Philip Shaw No.11 is our go to Chardonnay for everything from a quiet dinner at home to entertaining friends. Not heavy or overly buttery / oaked, but full of flavorful and beautiful with food. This is simply a fantastic chardonnay.
