Went in to buy a lovely drop of Morris Topaque. I was offered a taste test of this one to try at Dan's since I enjoy the Topaque. Walked out with a bottle of this one as well & have been purchasing it ever since.

Pedro Ximenez has raised the bar with this beaut sherry. Best taken in front of a firebucket on a cool afternoon

This fortified wine is deliciously sweet and full of rich dried raison fruit flavours that makes it a great dessert wine, and it also pairs nicely with blue cheese.

Don’t under estimate this , smooth as velvet and rich in flavour

I first discovered Pedro Ximinez in a recipe by Delia Smith in her Christmas book. The recipe is for raisins soaked in this sherry, and it's absolutely delicious. All you need is a clean, medium sized jar with a lid, and then you pour 4 tablespoons of the sherry into it, and add 100gm of Muscatel raisins - or any large raisins - to the jar. Then you screw the lid back on and give it a good shake. You only need to store the mixture for about a week, so it makes a great last minute gift at Christmas time. I like to serve this over Connoisseur vanilla ice cream and give everyone a glass of the sherry along with it 😋 Pedro Ximenez really is a lovely sherry, with flavours of raisins and dates. I recommend it to anyone who loves a good pudding wine.

A very sweet almost syruppy sherry ending with a big bang. Bought predominately to soak fruit for Christmas Pudding and Cake. Worked well and not bad to sip either.
