A catchy name and a very standout label will not be be the first thing you remember about Larry Cherubino's "Ad Hoc Middle of Everywhere Shiraz" from Frankland River in West Australia as there is heaps more to this wine than it's unforgettable label and name, this wine surprises you and jumps out at first sip with a big bang for your tasting memory. Just enjoyed my first bottle of this outstanding wine showing exceptionally aromatic and lifted bouquet of blueberries and softening spices together with bountifully laden fresh fruit with some peppery notes you would expect in a Shiraz of this quality. Ad Hoc Middle of Everywhere Shiraz is a finely structured full flavoured melt in your mouth complexing texture showing more than approachability with it's 14.0% Alcohol v/v and sweet fruit intensify the funtastic length of youthful drink now and later style. Dan Murphy's Wine panel have rated this wine 95/100 and as it comes from Larry Cherubino Winery which has achieved the 2011 Winery of the Year status from James Halliday (James Halliday's Wine Companion). Larry Cherubino Winery, Frankland River WA - remember this name as a winery to watch with great interest, James Halliday tells us that this is a winery that has 3 of their wines in his top 100 wines of 2011 (James Halliday Wine Companion - The Australian - Sunday Telegraph Wine Insert Magazines) AD Hoc Middle of Everywhere 2010 Shiraz from the Frankland River Region in WA I believe should to be there with the list of the best 100 and with a Dan Murphy's rated 95/100 I reckon James Halliday had best get on with his tasting of the 2010 vintage. James Halliday's rating for the 2009 shows 92/100 (JH Wine Companion 2012) but after my first tasting of the 2010 it is certainly worthy of a 95/100 rating, placing this wine in the Outstanding range of wines (purchased 6 today from my local Dan Murphy's). Larry Cherubino Wines takes up more than 1 1/2 pages of James Halliday's 2012 Wine Companion so this must surely be an excellent example of the variety of quality wines from this winery with many in the 94-96/100 range of ratings. Ad Hoc Middle of Everywhere 2010 Shiraz has everything you ever wanted in a quality Shiraz and at Dan Murphy's you will get this outstanding wine at a price less than $20 - Larry Cherubino and Dan Murphy's a winning team for a outstanding Shiraz. Superb. Well I am no wine expert but this is awesome. For $20 its a bargain. Went to Bankstown, none in stock, went to Hurstville, walked out with as many as I could carry -thought i better leave a couple of bottles for someone else (having second thoughts, might go back and grab them if they are still there). Very smooth, lovely finish, delicious.
