A beauifully balanced youthfull Pinot. The 2018 set the bench mark if you can get it

So you're patrolling the shelves at Dan's, and you just want to try something different. There it is. Massale? Certainly the right price. Ah, what the heck. You take it home and leave it on the bench. The kids are screeching and bouncing a ball inside when you've told them not to. The dog is walking across the tiles with muddy paws, and the cat is glaring at you. Your wife, however, smiles at you. A good start. You crack the wine and pour her a glass, then one for yourself. Smells great (the wine that is), and then you take your first taste. The wine is soft and well-rounded in the mouth to begin with. You hope for the taste, and then bang, there it is, lingering in the back of the throat. You pick up the bottle and memorise the label. Your wife kisses you on the cheek. A pleasant surprise.

A light easy drinking wine with enough taste and bite. A good finish with just enough length. A perfect red for the season change. Wish it was a little cheaper as I would love to have this as my everyday wine.

A wonderful Pinot Noir from the Mornington Peninsula with fine cherry fruit and excellent length on the finish.

I enjoyed this wine very much. At $28 its more than I want (or need) to pay for a good wine but this wine was recommended to me and I'm glad I tried it. Seems to be the price point for pinot's of this quality but will continue to look for a good sub $20 one.

Upon opening and pouring into my glass the colour was wrong. Taste of mould and musk was over-bearing. And it wasn't just one bottle. Maybe I had a batch that was kept badly or tainted. But based on the mouldiness it is a possible indication that it was already in this state when it was being aged (prior to bottling). I've had a good run with wines from Dans so figured it can't be cellaring issues.
