Thought this would be along similar lines to Ouzo which I love. However, apart from the aniseed flavour, it smells and tastes like methylated spirits. Will not be purchasing again. Must be for people with an unusual acquired taste.

A very good quality Rakî, smooth & easy drinking, I prefere it neat with just Ice, no water added & sip water from a seperate glass. Not my favourite Raki (that is Altinbas) but it is difficult to get in Australia so my next favourite is Tekirdag.

It is great with Some meat and a coupe of mezes. My favorite style is 1:1 water:raki rate. I believe that this rate gives you the best taste.

This is a far superior drink to Ouzo, excellent stored in the fridge. To me it was too sweet when mixed with water, I preferred it neat.

Exellent drink go well with food... In Turkey very famous with seafood...

By far the best alcoholic drink ever. Takes a while getting used to, but when you do, you will not touch a glass of wine again. Best served with heavy flavored meze plates like dips, Turkish bread, vine leaves and Adana kebab. Take a sip, hold your breath then eat your meal, allow the flavours to mix. Must have it with the company of close mates. Tekirdag is a tad smoother, but still sharper than yeni raki, and doesn't leave you feeling ill the next morning. Must be served in a thin glass, 1:3 raki 2:3 ice 3:3 water Good luck.
