I never thought I'd be a Chardonnay person, but Dog Point completely changed my mind. It's now the first wine I name when someone asks for my favorite. It has this perfectly clean acidity and a lovely toasted sesame note from the oak that I just love. I got curious about the popular Tolpuddle Chardonnay and gave it a try. It tasted almost exactly the same as the Dog Point, which made me feel pretty good about my taste! The funny thing is, the Tolpuddle costs twice as much. My ultimate goal is to try a Domaine Coche-Dury Meursault to see how it compares. Until then, you'll find me drinking Dog Point. P.S. The 2015 vintage was what first got me hooked, and I have to say, the 2021 I tried recently was absolutely fantastic!

Loved it! For those looking for a different Chardy this is a delicate and refined wine with just the right amount of oak. Not too fruity like other NZ Chardy's, and not as harsh as the Aussie Chardy's. Just right IMHO. I can't understand why it's not twice the price. Marlborough is better know for Sauv Blanc but this Chardonay is a real surprise and a refreshing change. This boutique winery was started by the original winemakers of Cloudy Bay until it was bought out by Moet and they started Dog Point and sister company Greywacke. Keep up the good work.
