The four stars is, well, see title. I would not drink this straight. 2/5 stars for straight. But mixed with cola it's great, 5/5. So I give it 4. Because you can make it good with a mixer, but the straight version is trash.

Don't bother: Cough medicine is cheaper at the pharmacy! It's packed with artificial cherry flavour.

I like a wide variety of rums, and drink them straight. Kraken is a favourite, but this one is only OK if you like cough syrup.

If you are into very sweet rums, then you will enjoy it. It has a nice taste at first, still some peppery tones, but with a sickly sweet taste, which after some time, it hit me that it tastes like a cough syrup. At first i thought I enjoyed it, but after coming back to it the following night, I found the taste a bit too sickly.. I like my rums to have a more raw flavour, so you know when it's hitting your throat. In saying that, I will still finish this one, but it might be my final tipple of the evening, like a dessert rum. Actually, I'll have to try it with ice-cream...

If you are old enough to remember Bronticon then this will bring back childhood trauma of that revolting cough syrup that was forced down your throat. My 19 year old bought this, tried it and hated it, his oldest brother sniffed it and turned green and his middle brother tried making a cocktail but one sip and it went down the sink. So did the rest of the bottle when I tried mixing it with coke. Nothing can save this concoction. Don’t waste your money trying it. Stick to the original.
