Good gooseberry-dominated fruit on an interesting nose & palate, with some new-mown grass in there too (2024 vintage). But not enough freshness of finish to make it a true summer's evening winner. The soft, full finish will doubtless suit some. But, for me, it's almost cloying. Some more acid and a flinty-dry frame to the finish would take the wine to the next level. Maybe worth a fraction more than three stars, but not four. Would I recommend to a friend? Depends on the friend.

Semillon Sauvignon Blanc (SSB / SBS)
Bright and clear with the tiniest hint of white gold. Gently aromatic, this has delicate tropical fruit characters with some light passionfruit and ripe pear on the nose, all complexed with just a hint of cut grass. Our SSB is fresh and light with delicious light tropical fruit flavours and some sweet citrus and honeydew melon fruit characters. It has a very good palate weight and mouth feel with the light citrussy flavours contributing to its clean acid finish. Excellent drinking now, it would suit a wide range of foods or serve on its own. Best enjoyed as a young wine.
