Everything I love in a pinot- beautiful nose with some violet aroma and smooth tannins and medium body with dark cherry savoury taste

A stunning Pinot Noir from the Mornington Peninsula. There is something about this Pinot that is just a little bit different from the others. It's got real character. Exceptional nose of soft forest-floor aromas and wet earth sit atop dark, ripe plums and cherries. Fantastic full body and low-tannin level, so expect a velvety smooth mouthfeel. I struggled to keep my glass down. What a ripper! Paired with roast Duck Breast, baked herb potatoes & cheese stuffed mushrooms.

I enjoyed this Pinot (the first time I've purchased a Kooyong Pinot) very much and although it was a little shy with respect to the bouquet when it was first opened and poured, it did eventually showed itself off. It had a dark clear cherry colour and its cherry earthy nose and flavour was shown on the palate giving a longish after taste. It complemented the food that we were having it with (marinated lamb backstraps which were BBQ'd and a tian of summer vegetables). I would recommend this wine to others and I will certainly purchase it again.
