Obviously made by some very talented people, the 2020 Thomas Hardy Cabernet is less a wine and more a highly organised ambush on your self-control. You open it just to have one glass, and suddenly youre standing in the kitchen at 11pm passionately explaining tannin structure to the dog. On the nose: blackcurrant, dark chocolate, cedar and the faint aroma of someone making excellent financial decisions in a leather armchair. The palate is rich, smooth and confident - like it pays its taxes early and owns several barbecue thermometers. This wine pairs beautifully with a King Henry steak or parmesan crumbed lamb chops, and telling your friends, I usually drink much more expensive Cabernet than this. 5 stars. Would absolutely let this Cabernet ruin my productivity again.
