Some forty kilometres from the southern ocean, our Great Southern vineyard was an off shore granite island, millions of years ago. The soils are ancient – some of the oldest grape growing soils in the world. These fragile soils support low vigour in the vines and high concentration in the wines made from this site. At an altitude of 350 metres, our vineyard is a unique place where the combination of site and soils produce wines of provenance with fine structure, restraint, power and purity.
