This is a whisky I know well and have bought regularly. It is an Islay whisky which is an area that I really like. It's peaty without the 'smokiness' that often comes with Islay whiskies. It makes BRUICHLADDICH an easy introduction to malt whisky for newcomers. I would happily recommend it

When tasting and reviewing scotch especially, it is critical to differentiate between texture and tasting notes. ‘Smooth’ is not a flavor or taste…it’s a texture. Tasting does not require dilution, this is a preference of drinking a full dram. That being said, this great example of the Bruichladdich distillery. Somehow they have managed to sneak in notes of crisp summer pears while a gentle note of spring apple blossoms very subtly passes across the nose. A mild honey taste appears just before the first few sip’s disappear. I do detect just a little hint of peat on the nose which makes a vintage cheddar quite a good pairing match.

Unfortunately “they” have changed someone or something at the Laddie. .. and so this is NOTHING like is was or should be, fire the “new” person … and get an idea! Very disappointing.. was always my choice to refer to friends who were asking for a good above average choice … Not any more….

First time buyer of The Classic Laddie; I rate it VUR and NNN. VUR - Vile, Undrinkable, Really bad value for money. NNN - Never again, Not a good gift idea, No way will I accept recommendation from Dan Murphy's Bunbury store EVER again. Straight down the sink for "The Laddie"

A very smooth whiskey subtle after tones glides down and very warming. But strong

This bottle was subjected to a whisky tasting “club” which only accepts single malts over $100. It was very well accepted by a very fussy group (thankfully as it was my shout). Unlike some of the reviews here with a small cube of ice we found it very smooth.
