The 2014 vintage is now too old and has lost any fruit or zest. I bought it on a recent special. Dan's did have current vintage as 2014 which turned out correct. I also bought the brothers sav blanc which is a 2018. I think Dan is trying to shift some old stock, this is better suited to the clearance bin when you are more likely to expect some hits and misses.

One of my favourite chardonnays, a full bodied, rich, fruit driven wine with beautiful complexity. A good example of New Zealand chardonnay.

I don't normally write reviews but l loved this one. I went back and bought a few more while it was still 2 for $30. It is very flavoursome with a smooth finish. Nice.

I found this Chardonnay from Giesen to be somewhat disappointing after trying their Sauvignon Blanc. Other reviews mention the 2012 and 2014 vintages. For me, the 2016 vintage was not as flavoursome as many others at a lower cost price.

For a winemaker and region renowned for Sauvignon Blanc this is an excellent Chardonnay for the price ($15 down from $21). Lovely stone fruit flavours with a hint of honey and nicely balanced oak, this is a very approachable wine with nice mouthfeel, good length and medium complexity. Definitely going back to get some more before they jack the price back up.

As a lover of bold, rich and oaky Californian style chardonnays, I have finally found a southern hemisphere wine to match up to it's northern hemisphere counterparts. Perfect to savour all on it's own.
