I thought I would try this as an alternative Gin. The only essence I got was coriander. If no one has had this drink straight let me describe it simply.. sugar water. Not even the botanicals are overwhelming. Good marketing in a bottle that is nothing short of sugar water for $45.. I wish DM could get me a refund for misleading interpretation..

This was suggested to me as a non-alcohol alternative to gin. I didn’t expect it to be a really close match but I was expecting much more than I got. This is way overpriced for the insipid flavour profile you get. Try something else instead.

Used this in place of Bombay sapphire. Mixed the same way with tonic, lime juice, lime slices and ice. Initially tasted spices , but mildly unpleasant. Later, tasted straight, which reminded me of dirty tapwater. Poured the bottle down the sink. Enough said.

I thought this was alcoholic gin, I accidentally bought as a gift. Why would you stock this mixed in with the alcoholic gin???? So annoyed at dan Murphys right now

I can see this product getting a lot of criticism, which has prompted me to write this review. I am not affiliated with the company, I just really enjoy the spice 94 variety. The Spice 94 goes really well with citrus, like grapefruit, and a quality tonic, such as the elderflower tonic from fever tree. The company have paring recommendations on the Seedlip website for more inspiration. What is key is mixing the type of seedlip gin with good flavour pairings. Unlike gin, which has literally the alcohol to make the flavour, these are crafted with flavour pairings in mind, to bring out the best experience closest to gin. Reading a lot of other reviews, you can’t just mix these products with a basic tonic and expect it to taste like gin. However if you’re going to the effort of having a non-gin, you can make the effort to pair it well, and enjoy something delicious and feel apart of the party.

They may claim to have all sorts of fancy, exotic botanicals in this concoction... but to me it just tastes like water with a few drops of cardamon or tea tree oil in it. I can't believe how much they charge for this... same price as a good gin but they not having to pay any of the duties & taxes for spirits... what a rip-off! Such a waste of money... just have the tonic with a splash of bitters or elderflower cordial... so much tastier and so much cheaper!!
