At a young age the 2018 vintage exhibits the characteristics of a bottle matured Bordeaux. Balanced, no rough edges and full palate experience. Unique but pleasant bouquet. A clear bargain at current prices.

Dark fruits , elegant with fine tannins. The overuse of older french oak barrels during vinification dominates the fruit .

Don't miss it at this price. it's a wonderful well balanced Cab sav brilliant value for money.

I love Cab Sauv and was on the hunt for a good one, well priced. My interest was tweaked when I saw this Katnook Estate example with a 98 rating, for a little under $35.00. Ratings aren't always a good guide, so I did what I usually do and bought one bottle along with several other Cab Sauvs around the same price. I took them home and had my little personal tasting. The Katnook Estate stood out by miles. It was as described, deep purple colour, elegant bouquet and a richness on the palate that you only get with the best Cab Sauvs. As stated, the oak is beautifully integrated with the fruit and certainly not overdone. Overall, it is a well balanced varietal with a rich, well rounded palate. After tasting it, I did what I usually DON'T do and immediately ordered 3 dozen. That's a lot for me but wines and bargains like this, don't come along very often. I'm a bottle fondler at heart and like to put my good wines down for a few years. In this case, that's going to be hard.
