5% alc does the trick. It helps impart the hoppiness and malt onto the palate. Streets ahead of many wishy washy beers on offer.

Even though I live in Launceston where we are conditioned to hate any beer from 'down there' I really love this little gem brewed in Hobart. It's called a pale ale even though Cascade admit that it is really a lager, it has a fresh, crisp and clean finish with low bitterness...very 'moorish' with a nice high (5%) alcohol content. My personal view is that beers in the 4.5% to 5% plus ABV deliver better flavours. Cascade is the oldest brewer in the country which in turn means this great drop has been around since 1824

A clean refreshing pale ale able to drink under any circumstances with a 5% hit pure magic all coming from one of the oldest if not the oldest pale ale in Australia good old Tasmania unbelievable

I've always thought this was the best beer Australia produces, way in front of most so-called craft beers. Why won't Dan Murphy's stock it in Canberra?
