Lovely classic oaked chardonnay. An absolute favorite

If you can’t afford Pierro, which I can’t, then this is the next best Margaret river or Australian Chardonnay

MAGIC UNVEILED AS CHARDONNAY AGES! REVIEW, TIPS & TRICKS Not a fan of Chardonnay yet? Have you tried an aged one? Did you know when wines age, they become totally different? Although they mellow/soften in richness, intensity and vibrancy, they develop layers of nuances that can only be born with ageing the wine! But, these don’t last forever! Hence why you’ll see under many wine reviews “when is best to drink” the wine. For example, this Chardonnay had a dazzling vibrancy when it was first released. Today it’s softer in oak and the citrus bite has turned more into a honeyed fig with a subtle tickle of tahini. This is more noticeable if you allow the wine to warm up to the temperature you would drink tap water around 8-15 degrees celcius as oppose to 2-5 degrees which is the temperature when it’s straight out of the fridge or out of an ice bucket. Or, you can drink it straight out of the cellar where optimum cellar conditions must be between 13 and 15 degrees. This 2004 will continue to peak with careful cellaring until 2025 where fruit intensity will further mellow until you’re left with nothing but an even softer palate of that gorgeous, silken honeyed fig and tahini! This is one of my favorite chardonnays. We always have a least one bottle at times of celebrations.

The 2010 is right up there with similar great Chardonnays priced around the $80 mark. Hard to fault it!
