I know, being an Aussie and not liking Bundy is as close to as Un-Australian as you can get but the Solera is different, vastly different. Smooth and refined and at least for me, very Un-Bundy. Over ice or straight is the way to go. It's not Zacapa or El Dorado but it's up there with the best we make here.

I enjoy Bundaberg rum, and this I a very refined and smooth drink but still unmistakably Bundaberg rum.

Tastes like home brew. Not much flavour. Not there best rum. Love my Bundy but sorry..... very disappointing. Was even thinking I brought a counter fit bottle.

On opening the presentation dox the handsome bottle and the rich contents take your breath away. Popping the cork the beautiful full body classic aromas of Bundy’s finest has your attention. Over ice the senses are in overdrive waiting for the first taste of Solera. The Master Distillers have excelled crafting a true legend for the Bundaberg stable. Solera needs to be on the highest of top shelves for the true Bundy believers to enjoy, make no mistake this rum is a legend.

For a higher priced rum I’ve always gone with Ron Zacapa XO however, I’ve always enjoyed good old Bundy Rum as a mixer. My first bottle of Bundaberg Rum Solera was gifted to me and drank as a double on ice. Well, this definitely has the upper hand on the nose with great aromas as soon as you pop the cork! Flavour wise, it’s a game changer! I’ve now on my 4th bottle of the Solera and am in favour of this over my original Zacapa XO choice. So, if you’re interested in trying it just give it a go!
