Feeling beer foam bloated? Chartreuse.
Not at the right level of buzz before walking out the door? Chartreuse.
Want to make wicked cocktails? Chartreuse.
Want to get sh17 your pants drunk and wonder how it all went wrong? Chartreuse.
Just, Chartreuse.
This is my new, favourite, go-to ingredient when I want to add complexity to my cocktails at home. Of course there are the Last Word and Written Word, both I adore. I've found so many other good uses for green chartreuse. I'm sure you will too.
You know what you either love it or hate it. I remember the first time i had Chartreuse and i just asked why would anyone ever drink this.? As time went along i rediscovered how it flows into cocktails like a last word...and wow did it ever change my perception. This is now on my back bar forever when i need to make something with a little more herbaceous depth or something that's old, timely and interesting. For the advanced drinker, you can just have it over with ice. I tend to add a some lime and a little of that classic Red Bitter you find on the back bar ;)
A friend told me to try Chartreuse because he had tried it before so I purchased a bottle and tried it and l'm not disappointed at all. Not the type of drink you have just to have a drink but a drink you can enjoy and savour.
