Rarely do examples of this style made outside of Germany come up to scratch when compared to classics such as Weihenstephan and Franziskaner. This one though comes pretty close. Most of the typical characteristics associated with a good Hefeweizen are here. Banana,cloves etc. The mouthfeel is solid with a nice moorish finish that leaves you wanting to have another satisfying gulp. If I can pick a tiny flaw it would be in the carbonation which is little too high. Hardly a setback though. This a great effort and I will back for more of this tasty offering.

It's an 'ok' beer, but it's nothing special. It's not a great hefeweizen. It's pretty bland and lacks body and flavour. I imagine it would be quite refreshing on a hot day!

This beer is insane. I super recommended! Taste really like a german beer, the quality is good and the taste of Wheat Beer is delicious. My favourite now

A good introduction to Hefeweizen if you have never had it. I have travelled through Bavaria and had many of these. Its not up there with the top ones brewed in Germany, but a great example. Have to remember to kick up the sediment, to get the full flavour. I have a friend who only likes lager, hates pale ales and "craft beer" but likes this, has the bitter taste with a punch of flavour that you can control depending on the amount of sediment you mix into the beer. Note: Best served into a glass so you can kick up the sediment

Since I moved to Australia I have been craving the weizen. Instead of going for the German/Belgian old timers I decided to find a local one. I have tried Burleigh Brewing, Redback and now 4 Pines. 4 Pines is not bad, it has some good tones, but something is missing. I personally like Redback better. Also the price tag for 4 Pines is just too high.

I really like what the guys at 4 Pines are doing. Good beers. I like their Hefeweizen, but their Kolsch is still my favourite of their lines. I've only recently discovered the joy that is Hefeweizen. I can't put my finger on it but while this is a very enjoyable drink I still prefer the Hargreaves Hill Hefewerizen over this one.
