I am not a wine expert at all but this is so smooth and easy to drink yet so full of flavour. Love the Taylor’s range.

Taylors 2019 Tempranillo / Ripper wine

Mitch Taylor / Adam Eggins / Chad Bowman / Phil Reschke / Tom Darmody are the guys behind this incredible bargain from Taylors. Taylors 2019 Tempranillo is currently the best value wine in any Dan Murphy’s store in Australia. It refutes the dank, bilgy descriptions of most imported sub $20 Tempranillo in our country. It reveals itself via its Quercus Alba barrel maturation where coconut aromas attract your attention before the varietal fruits ascend to reveal the wines regionality. The 2019 has provided penultimate quality (always leave yourself room to move with regard to perfection). The fruit unveils as brambly dark forest fruits prior to identifying as cherry and black plum. The aroma parallels the flavour which is impeccably balanced. Tannins of powdery silk deliver a rich and rewarding finish.

Product Details

Tempranillo

At release the wine is a ruby red with a vibrant purple hue. The wine displays rich dark cherry fruit characteristics with hints of spicy incense and underlying dusty oak aromas. This is a medium-bodied wine with flavours of maraschino cherry, plums and subtle spice along with well integrated savoury oak. There is a pleasing soft and silky texture to the mid palate and the wine has a long, persistent finish. Half of the blend was matured in new American oak and the remaining 50% was matured in a combination of both French and American oak (3 and 4 year old) for 8 months before final blending and bottling. Crafted for immediate enjoyment but will cellar over a short term under ideal conditions.
