Tried five different Pinots for Christmas & New Year lunches. Scotchmans Hill was one of two I’ll buy again (the other was from a Tassie biodynamic producer). Enjoyed by all.

I'm not a big wine drinker let me just say that first. My wife loves a Clare Valley riesling and I try them when she is having one. The other day at Dan's I was buying drinks for the weekend and I saw this on the shelf. Thought I'd buy it for her to try a riesling from another region, I can say that this riesling is now a new favourite and we will be buying it again and can't wait to share it with the family at Christmas time.

We produce some beautiful Rieslings, isn’t it nice to be able to taste an offshore approach to this variety. Definitely a place in my cellar to compliment Clare/ Eden valley Rieslings. Dry & deliciously French !

I saw this at Dans and thought that I should try a Riesling from the home of Riesling. What a mistake that was. Complete waste of $20. It is quite bitter and I can taste no fruit flavour. There are heaps of Aussie Rieslings for around $20 that thrash this one such as Heggies, Leeuwin Estate, etc. I have 2/3 of a bottle I won't be drinking if anyone wants it.

A beautiful crisp Riesling from a beautiful region in Germany. Straw coloured in appearance. An aromatic and fruity nose with hints of pear and apple. Equilibrious, crisp and the right amount of acidity for a Riesling. Medium to long finish.

This is a beautiful wine, classic German Riesling, smooth and oily with fruit and a lingering flavour, not too alcoholic, not too sharp (but then again, I do like my wines fruity and not acidic). And for once, it's almost the same price you'd pay in Germany, unlike so many other Rieslings which are totally overpriced in the Australian market.
