Almost a simple liquor style, vanilla notes with simple spice...Lovely to enjoy just by itself on a relaxed evening!!

Looking for not too expensive brandy/cognac/VSOP for cocktails and sipping, JP Chenet VSOP seemed to fit the bill - albeit in a smaller bottle... I was going to go for local cheaper options but the price was right and reviews good and - well - I wasn't disappointed! Smooth, sweet, vanilla etc characters as you might expect this one also seemed to have some body/creaminess that really made it stand out in my mind vs previous brands/types. It has an almost liqueur character vs the spirit-ed ones I remember before - it might just be my failure of memory but intriguing. I shall have to try my old (cheap Aussie/other) brandies again to compare anew - for scientific purposes naturally! ;-) A tasty drop, well worth trying!
