we add honey mead to the port barrel to give a sweeter taste

I have been making my own mead for 4 months, So I thought I would try a proper one. To see who it tasted. I did not lick it. Mine is Strawberry & ???. which is sweet, smells great with a great after taste. Is great over ice or with water for a refreshing drink. I have a small glass before bed each night.

This is my go to drink. Great tasting and very smooth and sweet. I introduced my wife to it and she loves it. I highly recommend.

I tried this years ago and hated the sour, tangy flavour. Decided to try again recently in case my tastes have changed, and it was fantastic. Sweet and clear. Bought another bottle and again it was horrible, brown and sour. I emailed Maxwell Wines and they confirmed that it's intended to be clear and sweet, not brown and sour. The mead when you get a good bottle is amazing, I think they may have a problem with bottles spoiling though. 5 star drink as long as you get a good one.

This is just a white wine sweetened with honey. A proper mead should be sweet and smooth, this is just honey wine. You'd be better off going to your local meadery or making some yourself. No wonder why no one knows what mead is these days, when this stuff takes up all the market.

I'm a Heathen, and I got some Maxwell Honey Mead for offerings to Odin. I also drank some while playing a game of Orlog with my mate and had a great time. It tastes great in my opinion, and I would absolutely recommend it to other Heathens or for anyone interested in trying mead.
