So I read some of the reviews about it being very much like perfume, and I doubted how much that would be the case, it's ginger and shochu, not much room to be weird right? It's pretty weird, doesn't actually taste like ginger at all, but can be good. I've found so far that mixing it with Cointreau is actually pretty good, but drinking it straight is just too much. This was a bit different to other things I might describe as being like perfume, and I probably wouldn't recommend it if you're after something that tastes like ginger.

I am not experienced with Shochu, but I enjoyed this one. Ginger is a rarer flavour and it worked well especially as a mixer.

As a regular Sochu drinker I had high hopes. Certainly a very strong alcohol content compared to others that I drink. It has an unfortunate taste that overpowers the ginger, a bit like my Grandmothers (cheap) perfume. Avoid.

This is the first Shochu that I have ever disliked. Shochu on ice is one of my favourite tipples but this was a disaster. I love ginger but this tasted like a glass of perfume. I'm sorry, but after a number of attempts this went down the drain.

I don't usually enjoy spirits straight or on the rocks but this Shochu is amazing. Subtle, perfectly balanced and smooth. Obsessed.

I love this shochu so much. Clean, crisp taste with just the precise portion of ginger. It is a work of art.
