Doesn't have the usual body of a Richard Hamilton shiraz which probably affects the taste but doesn't have any nasties or tannins.

Not one person in a group of six had a good word to say for this wine. How it got the rating it was given is beyond me. It is harsh and unpalatable, not even a pleasant vinegar. It went down the sink as we wouldn't even cook with it. The other 3 bottles have been put away for at least 5 years in the vague hope that it might improve. I won't be buying from this vineyard again.

quite nice but we prefer Glimmer of Hope shiraz from McLaren Vale as it has more 'fruit' taste

Notes of raspberry and peppermint on the nose. Smooth, full of dark fruit without letting the sugar dominate & a hint of chocolate and pepper on the finish. This Shiraz has very well controlled acidity and large mouth-feel (no surprise at 14% alcohol). What makes this an excellent wine for the money is that while this is a big, fruity shiraz, the sweetness and acidity are very well balanced and controlled, allowing softer notes a chance to make themselves known. I'll be picking up a dozen.
