I was wondering what topaque was — ?? Tokay renamed due to EU regulation. Yes - and it is still lovely after 40 years of visiting Campbells and my father-in -law for 50 years before that ( He went to school with old man Campbell.) Good stuff for after dinner with desert and thereafter as well.

A very smooth sip. A very enjoyable Australian fortified wine

I'm not just being funny. I really REALLY love a beautiful fortified wine, but usually avoid them for the headache factor. But I very purposely walked in to find something silky syrupy to combat the fifth week of a lingering case of walking pneumonia. Something gorgeous to sip. IT IS PERFECT and worthy of the accolades plastered all over the bottle. But now my husband is onto it and it's a really good thing it's so unbelievably reasonably priced.

Have tasted most of the Topaques from the area. This one not the best but very acceptable.

The best Tokay I have tasted, the price is very good and everyone enjoys a glass when we are away or entertaining friends.

Color: Deep copper/burnt orange with light brown hues. Nose: Burnt caramel, raisins, rich toffee and some feint spice and citrus notes. Taste: Very thick and oily in the mouth but pleasantly so. Lucious and rich display of citrus, toffee, charred wood and finishes long and lingering with a nice note of oak. Also pairs beautifully with brie cheese in case anyone was looking for serving suggestions. This is the first Tokay (or topaque) I've ever tried and I must say, what a delight this wine is. If an entry level Tokay is this nice, I can't wait to try some of the higher ups =) Fox.
