This is my first Irish Whiskey matured in Sicilian Marsala casks. This cask was seasoned well with Sicilian Marsala, giving this whiskey a luscious fruity taste with a good mouthfeel. Non-Chill filtered and Natural Colour makes this Irish Whisky burst with flavour as all the proteins and oils are retained resulting in a delicious whiskey in its most pure state, which makes it the next best thing to cask strength whiskey. I noticed a "floater" of what I thought was a tiny piece of cork floating around in the bottle, but quickly understood that this whiskey is un-chill filtered, so this (floater) is normal and definitely not in any way makes the whiskey inferior. In fact it makes this whiskey better because it shows me that the whiskey is good indeed, and un-chill filtered. These type of Marsala whiskey casks are always expensive, and when done correctly they taste fantastic. Will buy another bottle or two when Dan's have them on special as $80.00 is a bit rich I think.
