tasted sept 2024. firstly, almost completely missing the green edge described in the expert review (something i always associate with a freshness on the palate, and yes, that lacked).
lovely deep, complex, toffeeyed nose, but big, not delicate or nuanced. lacking so far.
on the palate, just a a well-aged tawny, no particular fruit character, liquorice? provenance?..excitement, even? no, not even super smooth, a bit hot and coarse. sweet and sticky.
maybe some accountant's way of using aged material? unless you're super impressed by the 25 years age on the label, i'd avoid.

Fermented and aged in oak for an average of 25 years this wine is a deep tawny colour. It has a layered aromas of raisins, grilled nuts and fruit cake. The palate is defined by rich and intricate complexity with flavours of caramelised toffee, dried fruit and vanillin oak, finishing with immense depth and length.
