This is only the second straight varietal Petit Verdot that I have tried. The first was aged for eight years and was delightfully smooth and rich in fruit flavours. This wine from Pirramimma is very good also and would improve with cellaring. Just waiting for a DM promotion to buy some more and wait a while.

My first introduction to Petit Verdot was Sitella's from the Swan Valley. Fell in love with it. I read about this wine and when the store finally got some in I bought three bottles. Well, the first bottle was an eye opener! All I could taste was blackberry. However with subsequent bottles my palate must have adjusted because its now not so overpowering. Simply, its a lovely full flavoured red. If you like red and want something different try this!

Received as a gift from friends. They were visiting me in northern Canada. What a pleasant surprise!! I loved this red. I shall begin cellaring this product on my return to Australia. Very smooth. I believe it would pair well with any meaty meal.

Stumbled across this in Whistler, Canada of all places. Was quite shocked at how nice this wine was. Great value for price. Really enjoyed it!

Currently back in Oz, I've been looking out for this one - my favourite budd teaser since a couple of years ago when I incidentally stumbled across it in Germany (!). Over there, they initially featured it as "in the wine cellar of the Australian PM" (not sure if they meant Howard or Rudd) but it made me curious to have a try as it couldn't be a plonk. Since then I've never looked back and hooked quite a lot of our friends as well. My German wine seller only gets them once a year and only a couple of cases - and normally I reserve as many of them as possible. Not your everyday wine but for all worthwhile occasions.

A friend of mine served this wine the other night before dinner. WOW !!! This might be just be the nicest wine I've ever had. At $25 a bottle it worth it but its so darn good you could get hooked and spend a lot of money.
