Jean Claude Mas says, "I was born on a farm: on my father's side, grape grower, and on my mother side, cattle. As with any young people of my generation, studying was a priority to get out of the farm and to get a white-collar job that will enable making a living easier. I felt lucky to study and get the chance to do what I wanted in my life. My best heritage is what I learned in the country-side thanks to a permanent contact with nature: from the age of 8 till 18 all of my vacations were spent in the vineyards or in the fields to help: pruning, trimming, picking, cutting, harvesting… After studying, away from the family house for 18 years, living abroad, experiencing working in other industries, I decided to get back into to my family house and I created Domaines Paul Mas winery. I learnt wine technique by experience, reading and, thanks to a great mentor. My huge asset was my understanding of nature - which was the true heritage and legacy from my father and grandparents. By creating Nature en Heritage I want to express in a bottle of wine how much nature and vineyards can be generous when you work with care and understanding."
