    • Preparation Time
      45 minutes
    • Serves
      6 persons
    • 1/2 tsp baking soda
    • 1.5 cups caster sugar
    • Pre-made pie base
    • 1/2 cup cornstarch
    • 250g dark chocolate
    • 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
    • 1/4 cup shaved chocolate
    • Whipped cream (try not to eat straight from the can)
    • 1
First, get that pre-made pie shell and thaw if needed.
    • 2
Next stop, flavour town. Get your baking soda, sugar and – you guessed it – wine, into a pot and stir until it’s all dissolved. Keep the heat at medium (lol mid af) and wait for it to boil.

Ok, this is where you’re gonna need to get all Walter White. If you have one, get your thermometer and keep checking the temp. When it gets to around 95ºC, add in your cornstarch.*
    • 4
Mix that sucker until it’s nice and THICC.
    • 5
Add your choccy and cocoa powder, then mix until it’s all one big happy wine/choc mixture.
    • 6
Pour into the pie shell and clean up the inevitable mess you’ll make (happens to the best of us).
    • 7
Pop in the fridge for 24 hours.
    • 8
Top with whipped cream, chocolate shavings and present to the judges (your roommates).
*HACK: If you’re not a chemist or that guy on TikTok with the wild chocolate sculptures, you can guesstimate that the mixture is at temp when bubbles start to rise.
