We tried weird pairings so you don’t have to

Weekly routine got you feeling blah? Lacking inspo on the drinks front? We got you. We’ve done our research and found a few little pairings that you might just want to bust out at your next house party.

Frangelico + Hard Rated

This combo is meant to taste like a New York Cheesecake, and you know what… it actually kinda does. It’s sweet, nutty and very drinkable. We reckon it’s a winner.

How to make:

Pour 30ml of Frangelico into a cup and fill the rest with Hard Rated. This isn’t an exact science, so you can always up one ingredient over the other to suit your taste.

If the last drinkie was a cheesecake, this is a lemon meringue. The vanilla from the vodka really powers through, even if it makes the drink super sweet. If your mate is raiding your pantry for something dessert-y, maybe sling ‘em one of these.

How to make:

Do 60ml Absolut Vanilia, top up with lemonade and squeeze lemon on top. We recommend a couple of ice cubes in this one too.

Baileys + Midori

Rating: 2/5

Ok, this one... was a bit iffy. Mix equal parts Baileys and Midori, then (and this is important) serve over ice. It looks like matcha but tastes like a Frog in a Pond. We weren’t the biggest fans, but we’re not gonna yuck anyone’s yum.

How to make:

In a cup full of ice, add 60ml Midori and 60ml of Baileys. Give it a swirl like an old school bartender and serve up.

Rating: 5/5

Like a sangria without chopping up fruit, this combo tbf isn’t actually that weird. The Spanish call it a Kalimotxo (or Calimocho) and it SLAPS, especially when you’re knocking back lil tapas at the same time.

How to make:

There are so many different ways to make this, but we chose a 50/50 split. 1/2 cup wine, 1/2 cup cola. Serve over some ice with a slice of lemon and you‘re golden.
