Margarita Picante Cocktail recipe

Mexico’s given us a lot: the inspo for your fave Guzzy burrito, Frida Kahlo exhibits and the TikTok birria taco trend. Then there’s Día de Muertos, or Day of the Dead (Thursday November 2 this year). And while we might not get the day off in Straya, we’re giving it our own nod with this festive cocktail.

    • Taste
If you like zesty, limey, spicy
    • Preparation Time
      6 minutes
    • Serves
      1 person
    • 60ml lime juice

    • 20ml agave
    • 1 red chilli (bird's eye works well here)

    • 3 sprigs of coriander (if you think it tastes like soap, you’re wrong hehe)

    • 1

Slice your chilli into circles and chop the ends off the coriander.

    • 2
Get them into your cocktail shaker and muddle so all the flavours start dancing together.
    • 3
Add lime juice, agave and tequila into the mixture and whack in your ice.
    • 4
Shake like you’re entering the bartender world championship. (Do a trick if you're brave!)
    • 5
      Strain into a glass.
    • 6
Top with a coriander leaf plus a slice of chilli like it's art class (and you’re desperate for a good grade). Salud!
