It feels like it’s really trying too hard - an assault on the tastebuds; too sweet, too over powering to enjoy either by itself or in a cocktail. I know it’s a local product, and it would be nice to support them, but I just can’t get over how they justify the price for something with so little finesse. I wouldn’t drink it, and it’s too expensive to gift to rum drinking friends. If you’re after local, there are so many other options at a much bett price price point.

i was excited to try this because of the story and all of the wow reviews and the fact that i thought it was made locally in milton (but it's not?), but i feel like it was defintely oversold. doesn't have that kick i hope for in a rum, just too sweet. i was expecting so much better.

One of my mates bought me a bottle for my birthday, and I was excited to try it because of the Brissie connection, but honestly think it was made from brisbane river water. Too many conflicting aromatics and nothing to cut through the sweetness. It has such a distinctive flavour I wouldn’t have more than one at a time - maybe a slow sipper with a generous dash of ice water and some citrus.

Confusing on the palette - it’s so rich and sickly sweet, and the headaches the day after!! The flavour is so intense, it’s easy to overdo it, and I don’t think I’d want to try it again for a while. It’s like drinking Christmas cake. If you want a smooth, sweet flavoursome sipping rum, or something more versatile in cocktails, I’d go an angostura.

I'm not normally a rum drinker however after trying this stunning drop, I am converted. It's a very special blend that is reminiscent of Christmas cake & celebrations. It tastes exquisite with muddled lime & dry ginger ale. A beautiful gift for someone special or to treat yourself. It will be a regular in my bar from now on.

If your expecting a traditional rum with notes of toffee banana, caramel then swipe left. I possibly should have read more reviews as this has been noted. I live in bne and love to support local business but this is too far away from what a sipping rum is that I can’t even drink it, except in a maybe a weird cocktail. If your familiar with the aromatics from Jaegermeister and like this flavour profile then you could be ok. If your looking for something that tastes like rum then keep shopping.

Every rum drinker should have a go here! Really complex drink with a very strong, full on taste. Not your typical Caribbean affair. There's a warm, spicy taste, that isn't worth mixing with much- best enjoyed on the rocks.
