In 1876 a young Thomas Hardy recognised the potential that lay within the unique soils of McLaren Vale and made it his mission to create wines that were a true expression of this remarkable region. And since that day over 150 years ago, our Hardys Tintara winemakers have been dedicated to crafting wines that highlight the distinctive and powerful characteristics for which McLaren vale is renown.

In this wine we have given new life to the classic Tintara combination of three varieties, Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro. These closely related varieties harmonise to produce a wine vibrant with red fruit notes complexed by earthy richness. Made from very old vines, Grenache gives freshness and silky tannins, Shiraz dusts with spice, cloves and liquorice, and the two are underpinned with the depth of luscious Mataro, so typical of McLaren Vale.
