Surprised to find Dan Murphy's selling the Printhie Chardonnay at a price somewhat lower than the winery's Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris, as the winery sells them all at the same price. Having tasted those three varietals at the winery, I was impressed far more with the chardonnay than with the other two, after having expected to prefer the Pinot or the Sauvignon. The fact that I bought a carton of the chardonnay at the cellar door - and nothing else - speaks for itself. It is an excellent example, just fruity enough to remind you that it is wine rather than beer or single malt whisky, but far from sweet.

This is a chardonnay for non-traditional chardonnay drinkers. Not too buttery or oaky, still with good flavour and easy to drink.
