Several people have reviewed this as "rough", and "unpalatable". It is neither, but like all Montepulcianos', it needs to open up far more than any Australian red grape favourite. So try this, get a big enough carafe or jug, pour the entire bottle into it, and pour it like a wharfie, not a fairy. Give it 10 mins and it's an entirely different ballgame, smooth and soft with all the bottled up tightness gone. Actually do this with all but your best reds from everywhere and you will be amazed. Great value, delicious Montepulciano.
