I'm not sure if I agree that this one has a spicy finish, as I'm NO fan of spice or pepper in reds, hence why I cant tolerate shiraz! This is a fairly berryish Cabernet Merlot, with nice legs, despite not being too high in ABV. Hints of earth and violets, cherries and a little jamminess. Certainly an enjoyable wine for the price. Cabernet Merlots are always exciting! The Oak maturation has added depth and complexity here and it would be interesting to see how this particular wine would cellar over the next half a decade or so. Match it with pasta and a lot of bolognaise sauce with cracked pepper and parmesan.
