example a classic refreshing beer you cant go wrong with this one no fruit flavours which is what you really want in a beer who other than trendies want cordial flavoured fruity beers please leave the fruity flavours to the wine makers and shove your fruity flavours where the sun dont shine this is beer real beer

Contrary to the information above, you don’t need a bottle opener for this one... it’s a twist top, not crown seal.

Looks the same in the glass as in the stubby, a nice amber colour. Quite different to other Boags beers. I get an earthy nose, and almost a vegemite taste with roasted malt and yeast, and little bitterness. The aftertaste is a pleasant sort of caramel toffee or something like that. I tried one stubby in a sample 6 pack from Boags Brewery and wasnt that impressed, but having purchased a 6 pack this has grown on me. A different experience from the usual Aussie Lagers due to its English hops.

I'm not normally a fan of pale ales - until now. All previous versions I have tried have been too heavy, too bitter, and/or too sharp or fruity. But a mate had me try a sample and I was immediately taken by Wizard Smith's palate - not too fruity or hoppy, clean and crisp, but not too sharp. Lingering taste is smooth and moreish. Now I recommend it and share it with others - no-one has been disappointed, and I have a few new converts. Tip - enjoy extremely cold for extra bite and crispness, preferably in a chilled glass.

On a holiday to Tasmania, my wife & I were @ Strahan & went to this pub "the hammer" & this beer was on tap, went pot luck as I've never tried it before & I glad I did! Great tasting beer & this one is my top beer... I have tried other beers or boutique beers thought good .. but.... the wizard Smith just hits the sweet spot for me & I hope for you too...
