By Never liked whiskey before I tried Suntory Whisky Yamazaki 12 Years Old Single Malt Japanese This was absolutely smooth

I used to drink it a bit. Used to cost about $135 and was ok at that price. But for this price it is not value at all. But this is too much. I used to drink this and think, meh, and then move onto the Yamazaki 18 YO. Which used to be about $220 in Japan. Don't get me wrong, a fine whisky, just not worth the money. (In my opinion - and what do I know anyway).

Tried it once in a bar, wouldn't buy a bottle unless I find myself in Japan. Great, fruity and well-rounded whisky, don't get me wrong. However, as a comparison (I am looking at my Dan's cart), for the exact same price of one Yamazaki 12, I have added three whiskies: Bunnahabhain 12, Clynelish 14 and Redbreast 12. Also, Suntory will raise prices further in April 2024. Hibiki Harmony and Hakushu range are also out of control. Sorry, it is just a fad at this point.

drink 1 less 1, definitely one of the best whiskey. if you like Jp whiskey, buy and keep more now before more contamination in the country.

This whisky is exceptional and was my favourite purchase back when it was reasonably priced ($100). Unfortunately, the popularity was too high for the supplier (won too many awards?) and the price skyrocketed. It's a wonderful whisky and I would love to drink it again, but it's not going to happen at the current price ($450). This is exactly the same story with the Hakushu and the Hibiki, which are also incredibly good whiskies which have been priced far too high. I'd happily pay $150 for a bottle.
