This tastes like cigarettes. I was hoping for a balanced malt with a hint of smokiness but this straight up tastes like licking an ash tray.

It was about $57 when I bought it, instead of $75. Can feel the peatiness down your throat when you inhale. Can smell notes of vanilla to complement it nicely. Probably go the Lagavulin if it's say $15-20 more. Still a decent drop nonetheless.

Every time I drink this it surprises me. I have a very small collection of whisky of which this is the cheapest. This competes with, and I believe is better or as good as my other much more expensive whiskies. I really enjoy tasting all of them back to back (it's a tough job, I know). But every time I taste it I double check the bottle to make sure it's not one of the 'better' ones. It just really appeals to my taste. I will definitely be replacing this bottle before any of the others.

A very light and bright starting point for an Islay peat whisky. A tad salty, then vanilla and honey sweetness, finishing with a hint of peat. Overall very smooth and enjoyable. Pricing is excellent with no risk attached.

I like the smoke and depth of most Islay whiskies so thought I'd try this out. It is lighter than I normally like, but with enough flavour to be interesting. Recommended to anyone who wants a gentle introduction to a smokier profile. Sit back and enjoy...
