I froze in freezer for several days then popped x3 into my whiskey tumbler and could barely experience any coldness. A dud product.

Just tried them for the first time and they worked very well. Eight stones for $10 is fantastic value considering you'll pay $15-40 elsewhere for fewer stones - and while some of these alternatives may indeed be of a higher quality, these do the trick just fine. However, don't expect whisky stones to chill your whisky as much as ice or expect that they'll work well for other drinks. That's not what they're designed to do. They're designed to provide a moderate chill to your whisky in order to enhance the experience for drinkers like myself who consider this desirable. As long as you have the right expectations from this product, you can't go too far wrong really. The only complaint I have about this product is that after only a single use I noticed a small chip in the corner of one of the stones. I am not certain whether this was a pre-existing defect or whether the stone chipped during use. However, I am treating this as a mere aberration rather than any indication of this product's durability. Only time will tell.

I put 3 in my glass of neat scotch. Now, I don't actually drink a lot, so there wasn't a lot to cool down, but I took one sip a minute later and it was mildly cold. Not as cold as ice. I had another sip a few minutes later, and it was still sort of cold. Another, and the scotch was close to room temperature. Terrible, I wish I had gotten stainless steel or something else, though I haven't tried anything like that yet.

Seems like a really great idea. But to put it simply........they don't work!!!

had a horrible metallic after taste that made us ditch a good whiskey and 4 fully chilled rocks did not cool our drinks.

I enjoy my scotch on the rocks. I found these 'cool rocks' in Dan Murphy's store & thought what a wonderful idea. Not having to bother with ice blocks & annoying trays. So I happily purchased a set. Excitedly tried it out over the weekend & that's when my disappointment started with these 'rubbish rocks'. Thought I may not be leaving them in the freezer long enough, so I tried leaving them back of the freezer for the following weekend. It only frustrated me more that I was silly enough to believe these 'rubbish rocks' were going to work. It only stayed cool for very short period & ruined my good quality scotch. Now these 'rubbish rocks' are in my office used as paper weight. I would advise others to save your money & stay well away from these 'rubbish rocks' due to my 'personal negative experience' with this product.
