This whiskey is blended. distilled and bottled in Scotland this says it all and one more thing is the price can't be beaten.

Please don't buy this. Cheap is all this has going for it. Don't drink this neat. Very slight apple on the nose, smothered in alcohol. No taste on the tongue - none, just numbing alcohol. A little bit of vanilla and honey on the after taste eventually. You could mix it for an alcoholic soft drink without any additional flavours. Don't put in tea or coffee.

I am a Top Shelf drinker now on a water budget, generally JW is the cheapest, however I do like Ballentines more than JW. It's a decent drink at value for money.

Bang for buck, in my opinion, this is by far the best whisky in its price range. It is very drinkable neat or on the rocks and tastes better than a lot of whiskys that cost a lot more, makes a great mixer as well

Mid-caramel colour typical of entry level NAS blends. Sweet, inviting nose featuring butterscotch and vanilla, along with a touch of peat. Plenty sweet on the palate, with a slightly syrupy but not unpleasant mouth feel, dominated by caramel. Smooth with virtually no finish, but a lingering aftertaste reminiscent of Listerine. There are better NAS scotch blends for similar money, so I can't even recommend Ballantine's as a mixer (though it might help mask the lingering mouthwash taste a bit).
